What do we do?

Orphanage

Bahamdillah the foundation of this Trust was laid for the weaker, orphans, and backward sections of society. This trust established IMAM-E-ASR (A.J.) BOYS HOSTEL in which the boys above 18 years old are staying. WAIT® achieved great success in a very short time period. Despite the scarcity of resources, the building is converted from rental to personal for orphans, and now WAIT® is the owner of a building for Shia orphan boys.

Alhamdulillah, now we have 45 orphans (25 boys & 20 girls), and the boys above 18 years old stay in the boys’ hostel. We provide the following facilities to them:

•             Food, Lodging of A.C/heater rooms.

•             School Fees, all necessary things.

•             Uniforms & Clothing

•             Sports Gear

•             Hall for prayer & Watching T.V.

•             Cold drinking water & hot water for bathing

•             Dining Hall

•             Computer Room

•             Medical

•             Counselling & mentorship

•             Library

At present, we have the capacity of 16 orphans (above 18 years of age) on the premises of WAIT ® and we have 4 such orphans. The vacant area in which these orphans used to stay has now been converted into a library. We have put a collection of books in this library. Anyone, including the Momineen of Sewak Park and any other part of Delhi/NCR, can come and read these books. Earlier around 40 orphans of all age groups used to live in the premises of our Shia Orphanage at Sewak Park, Dwarka Mor, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi. Shia Orphanage has been set up with the sole purpose of serving the orphans of the Shia Community only and it is doing so without any changes. This Shia Orphanage has been operational and always carries on with its regular activities only for Shia Orphan children. There are 45 Shia Orphans (25 boys & 20 girls) currently and each child's details are given on our website: https://www.shiaorphanage.org/sponser-a-child.php.

Anyone from the community who wants to visit the premises is most welcome. Any community member can also pay a surprise visit or schedule a visit by appointment. Either way is suitable and comfortable for Orphanage management. Any community member who wants to visit and interact with children is also welcome. Last but not least, this Shia Orphanage needs our community's, love, affection, prayers, guidance, and full support. Therefore, kindly help us to support the children of our own community for the betterment of their future.

Family Welfare

Due to the advent of COVID-19, we had to make some fundamental changes in our system:

1.   In the beginning, the orphans used to reside inside the premises of our orphanage. Though we used to keep them with utter love and took care of them to our best yet it was not possible to keep these tender-aged children wholeheartedly attached to this orphanage. "No one can replace or put in substitute the love and affection of a mother for her child”. Keeping in view this thought, Wal Asr Imamia Trust WAIT ® decided to relocate the mothers of orphans under 18 years of age from their hometown to Delhi. This humble decision would provide a feeling of family to the orphans.  Earlier these innocent children used to remember their mothers. Most of them were not taking an interest in any activities (educational, social, or extracurricular). Hence it became necessary to provide them with the love and affection of their mother.

2.   During the COVID-19 pandemic, it could be almost impossible to maintain social distancing among children below 18 years of age. In other words, our decision to provide separate rented accommodations to each family of orphans was timely and appropriate. Keeping given COVID-19, we used to provide packed food to the mothers, and siblings of the orphans. In this way, the Nazar, Tabarrukat, and other kinds of help by the Momineen are being provided to the Mustaheqeen (orphans, mothers, and siblings of the family) of the community.

A rented accommodation near the Wal Asr Imamia Trust WAIT ® has been provided to the families of orphans, which includes the mothers of orphans and siblings. The orphans under 18 years of age stay in rented accommodations along with their mothers under the guidance of Wal Asr Imamia Trust WAIT ®. This provides them a combination of both, i.e. the love and affection of their mother and the guidance of WAIT ®. All the families are being taken care of by the trust. The rent of the houses is paid by WAIT ® itself with the aid provided by noble people like you. WAIT ® is also bearing all the educational expenses, food, clothes, health, and other expenses of the siblings as well as all the expenses of their mothers residing in the locality. Apart from supporting these orphans, we also aim to help their mothers become self-dependent by indulging in various home-based works such as sewing, stitching, Tiffin service, making paper/poly bags, etc. This adds extra support for them. For that, we have provided sewing machines and other necessary equipment to them.

These mothers (widows) are very poor (financially and socially) and are not literate. They are not in a condition to bear these expenses. Hence it became necessary to support them. It is also significant to bring it to your kind notice that WAIT ® is bearing all the expenses of the sisters of the orphans residing in the locality of Shia Orphanage with their mothers. Currently, 15 mothers have already relocated to and residing in the surroundings of the Shia Orphanage and children are continuing to receive help, education, and all other benefits. All these children do not have their fathers.

Dental and Health Care

Inauguration of a Charitable Dental and Health Care Centre by Wal Asr Imamia Trust WAIT ®

After observing the pillaging in the name of treatment by most of the doctors in our society where the sense of humanity has almost died, we felt the need for a place where the poor and deprived can go freely and get the best treatment without the fear of getting exploited by the so-called doctors. For that, we got the idea of starting a charitable general and dental clinic i.e. a polyclinic for the poor, orphans, widows, and other weaker sections of society irrespective of their caste, creed, color, religion, etc. We consulted different physicians and dentists to have a sound knowledge of the same and finally made a blueprint of the same. WAIT ® purchased an L-shaped shop at some distance from the original premises and Alhamdulillah has all the necessary interior work such as plumbing, whitewashing, paint, gate installation, and other necessary work. Apart from this, we have got all the necessary paperwork almost done like agreements for Biomedical waste management and Butterfly Software, a certificate from the Delhi Pollution Control Committee, an MCD commercial certificate, etc which you can track at the link given below:

Finally, Wal Asr Imamia Trust WAIT (R) inaugurated a Charitable Dental and Health Care Centre named WAIT Charitable Dental and Health Care Centre, located at D-105, Sewak Park, Dwarka Mor, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi-59, on March 23, 2023, to expend its domain of public service. We aim to provide medical services to the poor, orphans, widows, and other weaker sections of society irrespective of their caste, creed, color, religion, etc at a minimal cost. The timing for the Dentist is from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm. As we are still in search of a general physician, we will start the healthcare part soon in the morning probably from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
